Volunteering

The maintenance work on the Gorse Hall estate mainly involves:

  • Mowing and strimming the grass
  • Pruning bushes and trees
  • Cutting back shrubs and undergrowth.
  • Maintaining boundary fences and walls
  • Maintaining the paths and steps to ensure the safety of the public
  • Repairing damage caused by vandalism
  • Conservation of the historic features
  • Working on projects when they occur

No special skills are required. We invite you to join us whenever you can and contribute in any way you feel able.
You will need weatherproof clothes and stout footwear.
Our team of volunteers usually meets twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 am, by the green container on The Coach Road, just above the Quarry Street entrance. See the location map opposite.
Alternatively, you can join us on The Coach Road at the gates near the traffic lights on High Street, next to the Methodist Church.

If you would like more information about volunteering, please contact Alan Pickles, who appears in the video below, on 07790 006345, or alternatively, you could complete and submit the form here.

This video will provide a little insight on the work that we do.
